Gratitude on Charity Day
Beneficiaries old and new took the opportunity to express their gratitude to Tzu Chi Foundation during the March 26 Charity Day at the Buddhist Tzu Chi Campus in Sta. Mesa, Manila. After undergoing myomectomy in 2022, former beneficiary Gretchen Velarde offered to serve as a volunteer, extending any help she could to beneficiaries. Among those she assisted was Carlito Alba, whose total blindness is due to retinitis pigmentosa, a condition he inherited from his father, a Tzu Chi beneficiary. “From my father to me, thank you very much to Master Cheng Yen,” he said.
