Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Cover and produce news and feature stories from Tzu Chi Philippines’ programs and activities.
2. Together with a videographer, the field writer must document's regular activities which are heavy in disaster relief operations and include medical missions, home visits, livelihood programs, and the like.
3. Write complete, accurate news or feature report on a tight deadline.
4. Do interviews of the activity's key personalities such as volunteers, beneficiaries, donors, and special guests.
5. Documentation includes taking photos to support the story. These photos must be provided with captions.
6. From Documentation, the field writer works with videographer to produce news and feature stories to be aired in broadcasting station in Taiwan. On occasions of major disaster and other event of similarly huge significance, field writer are required to submit at least one story within the day of the event.


  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism or Communication. or experience in writing feature stories and news articles.

  • Strong people and communication skills.

  • Excellent writing skills in English, accurate spelling, grammar and punctuation.

  • Good organization skills, time management, ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

  • Ability to fact-check information, grasp complex issues quickly and explain them in simple, concise language.

  • A keen interest in charity organizations, humanitarian work, environment, development and people.

  • Honesty, flexibility, persistence, self-motivation and integrity.

  • Good photography skills.

  • Willing to work long, irregular hours.

  • Willing to travel.

1. Develop the overall layout of website designs, brochures, newsletters, flyers, posters, and magazines.
2. Proofreading to produce accurate and high-quality work.
3. Amend final designs to supervisor comments and gain full approval.


  • Graduate of Multi-media Arts, Fine Arts or Advertising.

  • Create original visual concepts, by hand or using computer software.

  • Excellent skills in design and photo-editing software, including Adobe In Design, Illustrator, Photoshop, and others.

  • Exceptional creativity and innovation.

  • Accuracy and attention to details.

  • An understanding of the latest trends and their role within a non-profit environment.

  • Knowledge of the printing process and specifications.

  • Knowledge of typography, color and production.
